Driving Directions

The Paraho® Technology Research & Development Center is located at Anvil Points, 1354 County Road 246, in Rifle, Colorado. Anvil Points is located halfway between the town of Rifle and the community of Rulison, Colorado, off US Interstate Hwy I-70 west of Denver.

There are two options for driving into the Rifle/Rulison area. You can either drive west from Denver on US I-70 (roughly a 3 ½ hour drive) or you can fly into Grand Junction via commuter air service and drive to Rifle by heading east on US I-70 (about a 45 minute drive). While Rifle Garfield County Airport accommodates large jet aircraft, there is no commercial airline service.

From Denver/Rifle

Driving west on I-70, take the West Rifle exit #87 located 3 miles west of the main Rifle exit. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp and cross under I-70 so that you are now traveling west on a service road that parallels I-70 along the south side of the highway. Take the Frontage Road approximately 3.7 miles to Anvil Points Road (CR 246), which is marked with a sign to the Garfield County Landfill. Turn right (north) on Anvil Points Road and cross back under I-70. Follow Anvil Points Road for approximately 1.25 miles up the hill to the end where the road forks left or right. Take the right fork and look for the Paraho® Research & Development Center located just off to the left hand side of the road, a brown-painted office building sitting slightly behind a brown metal warehouse.

From Grand Junction/Parachute

Driving east on I-70, take the Rulison exit #81 located approximately 6 miles east of Parachute/Battlement Mesa. Immediately after exiting, turn right (or south) and then take the first left (heading east), which is the I-70 Frontage Road that runs parallel to the highway. Take the Frontage Road approximately 1.5 miles to Anvil Points Road, (CR 246), which is marked with a sign to the Garfield County Landfill. Turn left (north) on Anvil Points Road and cross back under I-70. Follow Anvil Points Road for approximately 1.25 miles up the hill to the end where the road forks left or right. Take the right fork and look for the Paraho® Research & Development Center located just off to the left hand side of the road, a brown-painted office building sitting slightly behind a brown metal warehouse.
